It was not that long ago that a physical disability made a person a “shut-in.” Stairs, narrow passageways, and small bathrooms barred those with physical limitations from participating in everyday life and prevented gainful employment.
At Flatrock, Independence Day is today!
July 26 was the day in 1990 that the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law. The ADA provides protection from employment discrimination as well as improved access to goods, services and communications for those with disabilities.
At Flatrock we strive to keep all our residents active, healthy and participating in all the world has to offer. Today we celebrate the ADA and how much it has opened doors for our residents and their possibilities.
